The Toronto Urban Dance Symposium
-Adopt and Adapt-
Harbourfront Centre’s Brigantine room, starts at 12pm

:::::ABOUT TUDS:::::
TUDS is a nonprofit collective that started in 2010 by Ofilio Portillo, Apolonia Velasquez, and Jennifer Wan. Our mission: Bring Toronto’s Urban dance community together to adopt new ideas and adapt to this ever changing culture and the new opportunities in the Canadian industry. The conference brings together people from three worlds:
    •    Street Dancers
    •    Hip Hop dancers
    •    Industry Professionals

With sponsorship from Gadfly, and the amazing support from the Ontario Arts Council, Harbourfront Centre and Dance Ontario, this one-day event aims to elevate Street dance styles and guide dancers to a professional career. Dancers, students, choreographers learn about the fundamentals, history, and artistry behind Street Dances through workshops, panel of discussions, and performances. Bboys, Poppers, Hip Hop Dancers learn tips, do’s and don’ts from established professionals in the commercial industry and theatre stage. TUDS is an event for emerging, professional and amateur dancers who want to learn and make things happen for themselves. This event is meant for anyone in the dance community (dancers, students, choreographers).
